100 Year Old Rockford ( Double-Sunk Dial ! ) - $175
Almost a perfect 100 yr. old pocket watch by the Rockford Watch Co. of Rockford Illinois. This amazing historical treasure dates all the way back to 1907 and is an extraordinary timepiece. It is in a magnificent highly polished gold-filled case that does have some fancy initials on the back but is still very nice. The entire watch is in excellent condition. The 16 size model 5 movement is a grade 566 with 17 jewels in gold settings. This movement also has nickel plates, is stem wound and set, with beautiful demaskeen all over it. This amazing watch is still running strong after all these years. It looks like new, even though it is really an old classic. As you will see it has a VERY NICE ORIGINAL DOUBLE SUNK PORCELAIN DIAL rating a near mint score of 9.2 out of 10. The crisp clean hour & minute and sweep second hands are perfect. It runs well, keeping perfect time. I wound this last night and I don't think its a minute off ! It was recently examined by a master watchmaker, cleaned and oiled, and given high marks in every category. It’s hard to imagine that this watch is almost a 100 years old. This is an excellent example of American craftsmanship and a true collectible as the supply of these antique pocket watch watches has stopped while the demand among collectors continues to rise.
