23 Jewel 60 Hour Bunn Special "163" Type I R ( Nice Case ! ) - $3600.00
A perfect Railroad pocket watch by the Illinois Watch Co. of Springfield, IL. This amazing historical treasure dates to 1931 and is an extraordinary timepiece. It is very impressive when held in your hand. It is in a magnificent highly polished MODEL 173 BUNN SPECIAL case that is nearly flawless. The entire watch is in excellent/mint condition. The 23 jewel 60 HOUR movement is marked "163" on the barrel bridge near the edge of the movement. Two types of the "163" exist with 5000 in total production. This is the rarer one with only 1,000 of the type I R being made. How many are left nobody knows. It was recently cleaned and oiled and keeps PERFECT time. As you will see it has an ORIGINAL MINT 23 JEWEL 60 HOUR double-sunk porcelain dial. This is an excellent example of American craftsmanship and a true collectible as the supply of these high grade railroad watches has stopped while the demand among collectors continues to rise. It appears from the prices guides I have that the price of this watch has nearly double in the last 10 years. Here is your opportunity to own a true collectors dream. You will not only have a beautiful timepiece but also a treasure to pass down for generations to come.
